Jesus brings good news to the poor and brokenhearted. He pardons iniquity, frees captives, comforts mourners, and provides for those who grieve. He gives beauty instead of ashes, joy instead of mourning, praise instead of a faint spirit. He gives new life, new hope, a new future. Jesus then works through His rescued ones to rebuild, restore, and renew what sin has devastated for many generations (Isa. 61:1–4). We believe that Jesus is still doing this work today as His Spirit-empowered followers make disciples.
Because of this, our goal is to help followers of Jesus disciple urban youth through life-on-life relationships. Revive exists to provide a context for these relationships to develop.
Revive is a partnership of various churches and ministries working together to reach the youth of our city. We believe that we can accomplish more together than separate.
As stated above, our goal is to help followers of Jesus build life-on-life relationships with youth. All of our programming exists to help facilitate that goal of relationships. Whether it's sharing a meal or playing games or studying God's Word, our desire is for youth to connect with an older mentor who will walk life with them for the long haul.
All of our volunteers start out as program volunteers. Over time, some of these program volunteers become volunteer mentors. Each volunteer mentor is then paired up with a mentor coach for ongoing accountability and support. Lord-willing, as these volunteer mentors grow, they may themselves become mentor coaches in the future.
Following Jesus is not easy. We want to not only tell youth about Jesus, we want to walk with them as we model for them what it means to be true disciples.
