He Was Heard
Our brother and elder candidate, Nick Frank, will be walking us through our last Psalm of the Summer. As Pastor Toph alluded to on Sunday, Psalm 21 is related to Psalm 20. The editor(s) of the Psalms intentionally stitched the book together to have one follow the other, and it is pretty instructive. In Psalm 20, we saw petitions lifted to the Lord. In Psalm 21, we see the Lord answering prayer. Of course, this is rich food for our souls. We have a God who answers the prayers of his people. Whenever we read royal Psalms though, we must think of not David alone, but THE King, the Messiah — In the days of his flesh, Jesus offered up prayers and supplications, with loud cries and tears, to him who was able to save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverence (Heb 5:7). It is for our salvation that the Lord answers the prayer of THE King! We are great recipients of answered prayer!
Be in prayer for Sunday,
