The vision and leadership team of Jubilee is unique. The neighborhoods of Philips and Powderhorn are also unique. We are seeking to blend together in partnership the resource of many people and existing ministries to accomplish the end of seeing a vibrant church reaching out with the hope of Christ and bringing about change in this challenging environment.
John, by the mercy of God, is the lead pastor at Jubilee. He is the happy husband of Leslie and they have seven wonderful children. John served on staff at Bethlehem Baptist Church for nearly ten years before helping to plant another church in Brooklyn Center, MN. John grew up in the Phillips neighborhood and is passionate to see disciples of Jesus Christ made from among the nations here in South Minneapolis and around the world.
Toph and Amy oversee our Jubilee Youth Center, which is a biblically-based, church-operated mentorship program that takes place in an after-school setting. Toph and Amy find their greatest joy serving Jesus together in raising up their two daughters, Adelay and Constance. Toph is also an Assistant Pastor with a Youth & Family focus.
Steve and his wife Sandy came with the Ericksons from a church plant on the north side of the Twin Cities to start Jubilee. Their family now has grown, they enjoy investing in the shepherding and mentoring of people and the development of a still new church. Steve heads the Finance Team.
Dave and Renee have been blessed with six children. The oldest two have given them four grandchildren. The four younger children were blessings given after the Lord opened Dave and Renee’s eyes to their desperate state and need for the Gospel. They have lived in the neighborhood with those four for 15 years. When Dave’s job with Delta was moved to Atlanta, they chose to stay here in Minneapolis and a part of Jubilee. Many have enjoyed the hospitality of their home. Dave and Renee are so blessed walking through life with the younger folk and families of Jubilee, reminding one another of the Gospel.
Brian teaches at Hope Academy, a local Christian school. He and his wife, Teresa along with their eight children desire as a family to serve Jesus here at Jubilee and in this city. They are grateful for how Jesus continues to lead them on this beautiful journey and are looking forward to how He will use them for the glory of His Name in Minneapolis.
Mike works at Hope Academy, a local Christian school, where he serves as the Academic Support Counselor for the Upper School as well as a Humane Letters teacher. Mike and Connie and their three children, Naomi, Ruthie, and Seth live in North Minneapolis. They have been MLG leaders for a North Minneapolis MLG for over two years. Mike and Connie moved to North because they have a heart to see more and more people reached with the true Gospel in North Minneapolis and would love to be a part of an eventual church plant there.

Dan and Laurie came to us after years of missionary service in West Africa. Their varied experience provides a different perspective as we seek to be salt and light in a place of such diversity. After serving five years here as an elder at Jubilee, Dan, along with Laurie and their daughter Lyndi stepped into a new ministry as sent ones to the peoples of Peru, South America for 2 years. June of 2017 saw their return to Jubilee. Dan is serving once again as an elder and staff pastor.
In 2012, Jahill Richards entered into a pastoral internship here at Jubilee Community Church and upon completion, he joined the church staff. Jahill served at Jubilee as an elder and as Director of The Jubilee Urban Leadership Initiative. In 2015, Jahill and his family (Ka, Asia, Grace, and Judah) were sent out by the elders of Jubilee to help plant a new church in Anacostia, Washington, DC.
